These words are often used by those who aren’t willing to change. They may say they want to change, then the buts and trys and so forth come out, and their true colors come out. “I was going to ‘but’ then …” “I’ll ‘try’ to get that done.” “It’s not my fault if …”
I will admit I’ve employed one or two of these in my life, as we all have. However, removing these words and ideas will greatly help you down the path to truly taking control of your own power.
We all know a person like my friend Bill. He’s a good guy, but according to him, he can’t ever catch a break. Thing after thing happens to him. My friend Bill got in trouble with the law. He proclaimed it was not his fault and was dealt with unjustly. I’ll spare you the details but in fact, was. Talking to him, I often get “I’ve tried that and …” or “Don’t you think I deserve …” and “but if they hadn’t done ….”
These stumbling blocks cease the power of the divine from flowing through us. It makes it more difficult to see and utilize the power given and prevents us from seeing the synchronicity opportunities associated with the law of attraction.
Simply put, you can’t see the forest for the trees and run smack dab into them over and over. It’s only by disconnecting from these that you can move forward. For instance, my friend is often in conversations and will start with “If only they hadn’t …” Which is just another form of the same thing.
Let’s look at some of these briefly. First of all, the big “but.” To paraphrase Dr. Phil McGraw, “if you use but in a sentence, you’ve negated everything before the but to replace it.” Or something to the effect. In essence, you ignore everything before it in favor of your excuse. This allows you to bypass any logical argument and continue in your dysfunctional state.
An “If” exsolves you from any accountability. Allowing you to go along with your present course. “If it hadn’t rained, I could have mowed the lawn.” Ignoring the fact that it hadn’t rained the three days before as an example. I’ll ‘Try’ to get it done, but it looks to rain. I would have if Joe had _______.
One universal law is that objects in motion stay in motion, and objects at rest stay at rest. By allowing these to rein, we prohibit any motion-building activity.
Suppose we allow ourselves or even others in our lives to become too blocked by these all too transparent excuses. In that case, we do a disservice not only to ourselves but to others and the world, and even universe because we are all part of one energy system and all benefit from the addition of positive momentum.
